Terms & Conditions
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the supply of goods and services by TRP Chichester Ltd ("we", "us", "our") to you ("the customer"). By instructing us to carry out work or by accepting a quotation, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Definitions
- "Quotation" means the written or emailed price we provide for specific goods or work.
- "Order" means your written acceptance of a Quotation.
- "Work" means the goods supplied and/or installation services described in the Quotation.
- "Site" means the address at which the Work is to be carried out.
2. Quotations
Quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless we specify otherwise in writing. Prices are based on the information you provide and on a single site visit; we reserve the right to revise the price if site conditions, dimensions, materials or specifications differ from those on which the Quotation was based.
All prices are quoted in pounds sterling. Where VAT applies, it will be shown separately on the Quotation and on any invoice.
3. Formation of contract
A contract is formed when you accept a Quotation in writing (including by email) or pay a deposit. We may request a signed acceptance for larger jobs.
4. Deposits & payment
- For made-to-measure or bespoke items, we may require a deposit of up to 50% of the total Quotation before manufacture begins.
- The balance is due on completion of the Work, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- Payment is accepted by bank transfer, cash, or card. Specific bank details are provided on each invoice.
- Late payment of an invoice past 30 days may incur interest at 8% above the Bank of England base rate, in line with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
5. Measurements & specifications
Where we attend the Site to measure, we are responsible for those measurements. Where you have supplied measurements, we accept no responsibility for any cost or delay arising from inaccurate dimensions.
All glass is supplied to the agreed specification (toughened, laminated, sealed unit make-up, finish etc.). Once a bespoke item has been ordered or cut, it cannot be cancelled or returned.
6. Cancellation
- Consumers ordering at a distance (e.g. by phone or email) have a 14-day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. This right does not apply to goods made to your specification or clearly personalised, including made-to-measure glass.
- If you cancel a standard (non-bespoke) order before manufacture or dispatch, we will refund any deposit paid, less reasonable administrative costs.
- If you cancel after manufacture has begun on a bespoke item, the deposit is non-refundable and you may be liable for the full price of the item.
7. Installation & access
You agree to provide safe, reasonable access to the Site on the agreed date, including parking where needed. Delays caused by lack of access, unfinished preparatory work or other site issues outside our control may incur an additional charge.
We will leave the Site clean and tidy and remove the items we have replaced (unless you ask us to leave them).
8. Workmanship guarantee
We guarantee our installation workmanship for 12 months from the date of completion against defects caused by faulty fitting. Manufacturer warranties on glass and sealed units (typically 5–10 years) are passed through to you and remain governed by the relevant manufacturer.
This guarantee does not cover damage caused by misuse, accident, building movement, settlement, harsh cleaning chemicals, or alterations by third parties.
9. Liability
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Subject to the above, our total liability arising from or in connection with the Work is limited to the value of the contract. We will not be liable for indirect, consequential or business losses.
10. Risk & title
Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery or installation. Title in the goods remains with us until we have received payment in full.
11. Force majeure
We will not be liable for any delay or failure to perform caused by events outside our reasonable control, including but not limited to supplier failure, extreme weather, transport disruption, or fire.
12. Complaints
If you have a concern about the Work, please contact us in writing within 14 days of completion so we can investigate and put it right. Most issues are resolved quickly and amicably.
13. Privacy
How we handle your personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.
14. Governing law
These Terms and any contract formed under them are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
